BORONID® BORON NITRIDE POWDER
AS A RELEASE AGENT AND LUBRICANT
FOR HIGH-TEMPERATURE APPLICATIONS
Release agents and lubricants or materials for high-temperature applications are used throughout industry. The majority of them nowadays are used in industrial applications where specifications are becoming ever stricter.
BORONID® boron nitride is proving increasingly popular as a friction-lowering additive. The platelet structure of the boron nitride and its affinity for surfaces helps to coat the corresponding friction partners and thus prevents friction from escalating to the point that the part is destroyed. Various grades of BORONID® are available for use in release agents and lubricants. They differ mainly in their particle size and crystal morphology. Their lubricity is even retained at temperatures exceeding 500°C and this fact sets BORONID® apart from all conventional lubricating additives.
BORONID® boron nitride is used grease-free, but also in a large number of high-temperature processes, such as hot pressing of ceramics and metals.
