EKagrip® FRICTION SHIMS WITH ELECTROLESS NICKEL COMPOSITES SURFACES

Wherever components must be reliably joined together to transmit forces and torques, EKagrip® friction shims provide simple, reliable and technically mature solutions.

EKagrip® friction shim is a metal foil with a friction-enhancing coating based on electroless nickel with embedded hard material (= electroless nickel composites surface).

Applications

EKagrip® friction shims have proven themselves millions of times in general mechanical engineering, in machine tools, marine engineering, wind and water power generators, turbines, automotive engineering and motor sports.

Properties

EKagrip® shims are characterized by:

  • Microscale interlocking with the joint surfaces
  • Adjustable and reproducible surface properties
  • Enables weight and packaging-optimized designs
  • Static friction increase by up to 300 %
  • Easy assembly and resassembly
